Other Information
This route has been suggested by a Sustrans volunteer. Sustrans is the UK’s leading sustainable transport charity and is responsible for the development of the 12,000 miles of National Cycle Network. We hope you will enjoy exploring the local area and make the most of your stay at Minehead Club Site.
The ride takes in some local cycle routes and part of Regional Route 51 - The Culbone Way. It’s a pleasant, family friendly ride which heads out to the coast and along the seafront at Minehead before returning on quiet roads.
Start and End point: Minehead Caravan Club Site Distance: 8 miles circular route Grade: Easy
Traffic: A combination of traffic-free paths and quiet country lanes. There is one very short section on the A39 and whilst care should be taken, this is not usually a busy road Suitability for young children: Yes, but care should be taken on the A39 section
Hills: Some short climbs at the start, very flat middle section, and then a mild uphill and lovely downhill finish Refreshments/facilities: There are many refreshment stops and toilets in Dunster and Minehead
Other routes in the area: The Culbone Way can be followed out of Minehead in a north-westerly direction towards the town of Porlock
