Minehead Entertainments Committee Events
Minehead Town Council Entertainments Committee arranges events throughout the year ranging from film shows for children to tea dances.

Tea Dance on Thursday 21st October 2010 at the St John Ambulance Hall, North Road, Minehead.
PREVIOUS EVENTS
TEA DANCE - held on Thursday 29th April 2010. This was our second Tea Dance at the St John's Hall and was enjoyed by twenty six people. Cyril Page provided a good mix of music on what he said was his twenty fourth dance for Tea Dances supported by Minehead Town Council. Many thanks to the people who donated the twelve fantastic raffle prizes, the raffle raised £30.00. It was agreed by the dancers that this money should go to the Regal Lift Fund.
TEA DANCE - held on Thursday 25th February 2010 at the St John Ambulance Hall, North Road, Minehead, was well attended and enjoyed by all.
CHRISTMAS TEA DANCE on December 9th 2009
About 40 people attended this function and they all enjoyed an afternoon of dancing. The raffle had raised £50 and this has been given to "The Hope Centre" based at the Minehead Baptist Church.
BARN DANCE on 6th November 2009
TheVillage Minstrels played, a good mix of barn dancing and ballroom, good fun, good food and enjoyed by all who attended.
TEA DANCE on 14th October 2009
A very well attended function, the hall was full to capacity, very much enjoyed by all who attended.
CHILDRENS DISCO on Wednesday 29.07.09
Despite being widely advertised including announcements on local radio, this event was poorly attended. This was probably due to the worst weather conditions seen at the end of July for a number of years. However, the children who did attend enjoyed the disco and the refreshments.
TEA DANCE on Wednesday 10.06.09
Minehead Town Council's Entertainments Committee held a Tea Dance at the Church Institute Hall in Bancks Street in Minehead. Mr Page as always put on some lovely music suitable for a mixture of sequenece and ballroom dances. Unfortunately no photographs on this occasion but again a function enjoyed by all who attended. The raffle raised £20.00 which will be donated to The Regal Lift Fund.
BARN DANCE 15.05.09
Minehead Town Council's Entertainments Committee held a Barn Dance at the Hobby Horse Ballroom on Friday 15th May 2009. You will be able to see from the pictures that the function was very well attended and that everyone enjoyed the evening. This event is proving very popular with dancers of all ages and ability. An extremely nice buffet was provided within the cost of the ticket and the raffle raised £57.00 which will be donated to a local charity.


TEA DANCE WITH ST GEORGES DAY THEME
A tea dance was arranged for the 22nd April 2009 with a St Georges Day theme, held at the Church Institute Hall in Bancks Street. Tickets were free with the function being well supported and thoroughly enjoyed by all who came.


FILM WALL-E
OnSaturday 11th April 2009, Minehead Town Council in association with the Regal Film Society organised a free showing of the multiple award winning film Wall-e, which proved to be a great success.
THE FIRST TEA DANCE OF THE YEAR!
The First Tea Dance of the year organised by Minehead Entertainments Committee took place on Wednesday 4th February 2009, at the Church Hall, Bancks Street in Minehead. The function was well attended despite the threat of bad weather and was enjoyed by all participants. The function also raised £25.50 from the raffle which will go towards the Regal Theatre Fund.
