COMMUNITY SAFETYMinehead Town Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Minehead Town Council, in partnership with The West Somerset Council, The Avon and Somerset Constabulary and The West Somerset Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP), operate two closed circuit television systems (CCTV). The two systems are located in the Town Centre and on the Enterprise Park. The system complies with the Information Commissioners guidelines and the latest national CCTV strategy issued by the Home Office. The primary objectives of the system are: 1. The enhancement of public safety 2. Increase public reassurance for both residents and visitors to the town 3. The prevention and detection of crime and the appprehension and prosecution of offenders and the presentation of evidence for court proceedings whether criminal or civil. 4. To allow the Town Council to enforce its regulatory commitments.
